My stay at the hotel was a mix of pleasant and disappointing experiences. The rooms were cozy and spacious, with a lovely layout overlooking the living room like a balcony. However, there were some cleanliness issues with mold around the bath and a dated feel that needs refurbishment. The breakfast was superb with plenty of choices, but there was a fusty smell in the room.
Rooms

The rooms felt really nice and cozy, with a balcony-like setup overlooking the living room. However, there were cleanliness issues with mold around the bath and a dated feel that could use refurbishment.
Service
6.0
The staff were lovely, particularly Martyna and Isabelle who took great care of us. However, there was a concerning incident where staff had an open argument in front of me, affecting the overall service quality.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was convenient with ample parking and close to family we were visiting. However, some areas need investment for improvements.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was a mix of positives and negatives. The food was very good and the full English breakfast was superb. However, there were some issues with service and the fusty smell in the dining area.
Facilities
7.0
The main building served as the dining area, and the facilities were decent overall. However, there were some issues with cleanliness and maintenance that need attention.

The hotel room was much bigger than expected, with a comfy bed upstairs and tea/coffee facilities in the room, all for a great price of 58 pounds. However, the heating system was not adequate and needs improvement. The bathroom was clean, but a window in one of the rooms was not sealing properly.
Rooms
7.0
The room exceeded my expectations in size, and having a cozy bed upstairs was a nice touch. The tea/coffee facilities added a homely feel. The bathroom was clean, although the room heating wasn’t sufficient. One room had an issue with the window.
Service
6.0
The staff spent some money on ensuring a pleasant stay, but they forgot to replace towels during my visit, which was a bit under par.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location, set back from the main road into Derby, was a bit hard to find initially but improved during the day. It was a convenient stopover for overnight stays, especially for those visiting Alton Towers.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast service made my Sunday morning a bit rushed as I had to leave early. The dining options could have been more varied during the weekdays. However, the make-your-own pancake machine was a nice touch.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel facilities need some investment, especially in the heating system and window maintenance, but overall, the amenities were sufficient.
